The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) on Saturday, May 24, called on President Marcos to reinstate former senator Sonny Angara as Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), citing his decisive leadership and dedication to improving the country's education system in a short span of time.

In a statement, CEAP expressed hope that the President "would find merit in the accomplishments" of Angara and reinstate him as Secretary of Education.

This call follows Marcos's directive for a Cabinet-wide courtesy resignation on May 22. Angara, on the same day, tendered his resignation in response to the President's order.
