Top lender BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) of the SM Group reported a three-percent improvement in net income to P40.6 billion in the first half of 2025 from the P39.4 billion it earned in the same period last year, driven by strong performance from its core businesses.
However, the firm disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) that, “Earnings growth was tempered by the continuing investments in market coverage and IT [information technology] spending for operational efficiency.”
