Bacolod cop yields; missing single mom found dead

BACOLOD CITY — A police officer assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) surrendered on Saturday, Nov. 1, leading to the discovery of the body of amissing 42-year-old single mother in Barangay Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, with a rank of police staff sergeant, accompanied by his legal counsel and a colleague, voluntarily surrendered to Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. here.
In a media interview, Ibay said the suspect called him on Friday night, Oct. 31, expressing his intent to surrender, with the assistance of his legal counsel.
