All about the vibe
Manila Bulletin
|July 15 2025
It's all about the vibe this week as we dig into new releases from The Juans and Janine Berdin, to Ben & Ben, Hey It's Je, and more!
-
Starting with the collaboration between The Juans and Janine Berdin on a new original “Ano Ba Talaga Tayo?” The Juans are a decade into their career, and that’s quite the achievement for Carl Guevarra, Japs Mendoza, Chael Adriano, and RJ Cruz, for in that span, they’ve certainly had their moments in the spotlight.
Remember “Di Tayo Pwede?” that even Regine Velasquez covered? Stick around long enough and you’ll be playing with the greats! They’ve also collaborated with peers, which brings us to Janine Berdin. The Juans X Janine Berdin are a natural pairing. Thematically, both have plumbed ‘hugot’ for as long as we can remember, and the one ain’t no different. Remember Berdin’s “Sitwasyonship”? If you do, then “Ano Ba Talaga Tayo?” seems a continuation theme-wise at least. Carl, Janine, and Japs do a good job projecting all that doubt and desperation about a relationship limbo in their singing, and it's damn catchy too, as they’ve etched quite the fetching bop.
