3 weather systems to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of PH

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, December 16, that at least three weather systems will continue to affect large parts of the country this week, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and possible flooding or landslides in several areas.

In its December 16 weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting the eastern section of Central Luzon, while the northeast monsoon (amihan) continues to dominate Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon. The easterlies, meanwhile, are influencing the remaining regions of the country.

Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy to overcast skies with widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms, with a risk of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall, PAGASA said.

Parts of Calabarzon may also experience isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms associated with the shear line, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
