Last June, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle flew to Hong Kong to witness the grand launch of HKDL’s 20th anniversary celebration. Dubbed “The Most Magical Party of All,” the yearlong festivities feature elevated experiences that both first-time visitors and longtime fans shouldn’t miss.

Party on the street

On June 28, the official start of “The Most Magical Party of All,” the park was buzzing with tourists from around the world. At the top of our agenda: Securing a good spot along Main Street, USA to witness the new parade, the largest and most spectacular edition in HKDL to date.

Titled “Friendtastic,” the 30-minute parade brings the party to the street with its 11 awe-inspiring floats featuring more than 30 Disney characters and over 100 performers. Apart from Mickey Mouse and the gang, spotted on the parade were Duffy and Friends, characters from Pixar’s “Toy Story” and “Monsters, Inc.,” as well as Disney Animation’s “Zootopia” and “Big Hero 6,” among others. Some of our favorite floats included the Casita from “Encanto” and the Castle of Magical Dreams, carrying the beloved Disney Princesses.
