United are set to be without Fabian Schar for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal against City next month.The Blues made it to the last four of the competition after beating Brentford 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Rayan Cherki and Savinho were both on the scoresheet for the Blues as they secured their place in the last four. The Magpies managed to bag their spot in the semifinals thanks to Lewis Miley's late winner against Fulham.

City and Newcastle are now set to meet each other in a two-legged semifinal at the start of 2026. But the Magpies will be without Schar through suspension.
