ANGER AS MAGGOTS APPEAR IN ROTTING FOOD AMID ROW OVER PARKING
FURY has erupted over missed collections of green bins, with householders complaining of maggots breeding among rotting food for weeks.
Residents in Timperley, Trafford, who have paid an extra £45 on top of their council tax for the bins to be emptied on a weekly basis, say their green bins were not collected for up to a month and now they want a refund.
"I'm very angry," said Glenys Byrne, 68, who lives on Granby Road. "Our green bins were not emptied for four weeks and we had maggots crawling in rotting food. It's even worse when the weather is as hot as it's been. I want a rebate for what I've paid.
"When I complained to the council, all I got was an automated generic reply. You can't get through to anyone at the council - it's appalling."
