'Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims'

MANCHESTER'S Sikh community has echoed calls for unity across the region in the wake of yesterday's anti-Semitic terror attack.

The incident at Heaton Park synagogue on Middleton Road claimed the lives of Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66.

Police shot the attacker, 35-year-old British citizen Jihad Al-Shammie, dead at the scene.

Coun Bev Craig, Manchester council leader, said Thursday morning's attack left a 'deep mark' on the city.

Hours after the 'horrifying' incident, she added: "In Manchester, we will stand with and support our Jewish friends, our Jewish community, our neighbours, and fellow residents.
