ONCE again, the pressure is on all owners to have their dogs under control at all times.

So, let’s start by clarifying the meaning of that order.

It does not mean your dog must be under control when he is in the garden or walking in the park, it means we must have control whatever the situa tion.

A few years ago, I saw a Springer chase a duck across a frozen pond, leaving its owner yelling for him to come back.

He didn’t, the ice split and by the time the owner got to him it was too late.

No one wants to see that happen or watch a couple of dogs attacking sheep and there are only two ways to stop it happening.
