Prestbury rewarded for real team effort

AFTER a poor result at Cheadle Ladybridge last weekend, and a close loss to Langley in the cup the previous Thursday, Prestbury first team played host to Kingsley at the weekend.
Prestbury skipper George Brindley won the toss and decided to bat. Openers Sumon Ahmed and Mutu Ramanathan looked solid, seeing off the early Kingsley bowlers and putting on 25 before Ramanathan was out LBW for 10.
Mark Fahy joined Ahmed and put on 25, but with the score on 49 he was was bowled for 22.
Will Worswick came to the wicket but with only 9 runs added Ahmed was out, caught for 19, 58 for 3.
And when Jake Ogden was dismissed without scoring it was 76 for 4. Worswick and skipper Brindley moved the score on to 116 when Worswick fell for 21, and Brindley was out for 25 soon after. Dan Woolf made 2 before he fell and Shakey Shimul - like Brindley spent time at the wicket because it would be criminal not to use the 45 overs allocated.
