Free pest control solution to 'who owns rats' row

COUNCIL pest control visits are to be made free in a borough as councillors heard the introduction of fees left neighbours 'not speaking' after rows about 'who owns the rats!
As part of budget proposals agreed by Bolton council, initial call outs to deal with rats are to be made free of charge.
In 2021, the council introduced a £40 charge for two visits to deal with cases of rodents after hundreds of appointments were missed due to residents not being at home. Figures show there was an increase in the number of rat problems dealt with by the pest control in Bolton with figures rising from 569 in 2021 to 1,238 in 2022.
