David Cotton, 85, was surprised by his friends and support workers at Belong Morris Feinmann care home village with the visit to the Midland Hotel in Manchester, where he was joined by his fellow residents.
Guests were given sandwiches, cakes and scones whilst being entertained by a vocal group and given a goody bag by the tearoom manager.
David also shared happy memories of his marriage, the Midland and his life in Manchester.
David said: "I'd mentioned a few details about the big day from all those years ago and I'd thought nothing of it but before I knew it, I was standing in the hotel reception with all these recollections of the past flooding back I've not been back since the wedding reception."
