Rothley extend lead at top of Premier Division

ROTHLEY Park extended their lead at the top of the Everards Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League Premier Division with a 124 run away win over Crospton.

Batting first Rothley started well and put on 85 for the first wicket before Anish Patel was run out for 25 runs.
Wickets fell at a steady rate before a fifth wicket stand of 129 runs saw the league leaders rack up an impressive score.
Sunny Patel was out for 119 and Harry Funnell hit 96 and Rothley posted a total of 295-6 from their 50 overs. The pick of the Cropston bowlers was Abhay Katock with 2-69.
In reply Rothley made the perfect start as Dieter Klein bowled opener Sagar Pandya with the first ball of the innings.
