Guide dog pups get training day at airport

THE cutest jet setters of the future have been given some vital training at East Midlands Airport (EMA).

Sight Loss charity Guide Dogs sent eight pups to the airport in a bid to get them acclimatised to the buzzing environment.

The four-legged friends, who are all under a year old, took their training in Castle Donington last week, roaming the departures and arrivals area while listening to terminal announcements.

Each was joined by a volunteer Puppy Raiser to prepare for future trips.

"It's really important that our pups are exposed to different sights and sounds, to help them grow up to become confident guide dogs," said Jennie Sutton, local puppy development adviser for the charity.
