Dibling has impressed David Moyes with his recent performances, but the Everton boss is demanding more from the teenager. The playmaker produced his best display since his summer move to Merseyside when he helped the Blues to a valuable win over Nottingham Forest in midweek.

It followed his first start since October in the draw at Burnley days earlier, a match in which he showed flashes of the talent that convinced Everton to make him the most expensive signing of a busy summer.

While that deal, for an initial £35m, heightened expectations about the impact he could have on Moyes' side, the England youth international always represented a long-term project for the manager, who has taken time to integrate him into his plans.
