Aznou needs to work on physicality to start

DAVID MOYES has set out what he needs to see from Adam Aznou in order for the teenager to push for first team football.

The Everton manager yesterday said he did not believe the 19-year-old was quite ready to challenge Vitalii Mykolenko for the left-back spot.

And Moyes has emphasised that belief by playing both James Garner and Seamus Coleman out of position even when the summer signing has been available.

Adding depth to that stance, the Blues boss stressed his belief Aznou is a talented player and that his position did not reflect the ability of the Morocco international, who joined from Bayern Munich in July.

Instead, he said, the defender needed more time to integrate with the first team after a summer disrupted by injury and work to step up his "physicality".

Aznou, a product of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, moved to Merseyside in a £7.8million deal from German giants Bayern.
