We ran out of steam - but there's no excuse for Brentford beating
Liverpool Echo

JAKE O’Brien reckons Everton looked tired in their 4-2 home defeat to Brentford - but the defender refused to use that as an excuse.
Captain James Tarkowski gave the ball away cheaply for the Bees’ opener, converted by Igor Thiago on 11 minutes, and despite home manager David Moyes responding with a double substitution at halftime, it was the visitors who ended this game as a contest with a quickfire double early into the second half as Nathan Collins doubled their lead from a corner before Thiago added a third just a minute later.
Beto, who had been brought on at the interval, reduced arrears with a header on 66 minutes, but after Thiago added a breakaway fourth on 88 minutes, Thierno Barry's stoppage-time effort was a mere consolation.
