We needed that boost - Burgess

IWARRINGTON head coach Sam Burgess welcomed a morale-boosting 24-10 victory over Hull which keeps alive their top-six hopes.

Despite a fast start with tries from the Thewlis brothers Josh and Jake, the home side were clinging on 12-10 at the break and it needed two scores in three minutes from Sam Powell and Lachlan Fitzgibbon shortly after the restart to put them back on track.

Defeat on Saturday night would have left Warrington seven points adrift of sixth place, but only a second victory in the last six Super League matches has offered some hope.
