A 'HIGHLY pathogenic' strain of bird flu has been confirmed at a popular beauty spot.

Swans in the canal at Spike Island
Several swans have reportedly been found dead at Spike Island in Widnes in recent weeks, prompting concern among local residents and wildlife lovers.
According to posts on social media, one of the park's most well-known birds, a much-loved swan named Tinker, was found dead in one of the holding pools last week. Halton Borough Council has now confirmed the deaths at Spike Island are due to Avian Flu.
