Three arrested after man dies in workplace incident

HSE LAUNCHES PROBE AFTER FALLING OBJECT LEAVES ONE WORKER DEAD AND ONE IN HOSPITAL

THE Health and Safety Executive has confirmed it is investigating after one man died and another was injured following an industrial incident.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at an industrial unit between Glendower Street and Oberon Street, which the ECHO understands belongs to Shunfa Construction, in Kirkdale at about 8.50pm on Tuesday.

First responders arrived to find a man in his 50s had been seriously injured after a heavy object fell on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s next of kin have been informed although formal identification is yet to take place. Merseyside Police officers continue to support them at this time.
