Hate has no place in our community
Liverpool Echo
|October 20, 2025
WHEN it comes to tackling hate crime, education is our strongest weapon. Last week, I joined a powerful workshop called ‘Hate Makes Me Feel’ at Anfield Road Primary School. It’s helping children as young as seven understand what hate crime is, how it affects people, and how to speak out against it.
It’s about storytelling and honest conversations, giving young people the confidence to say: “That's not okay.”
By the end of the session, it was inspiring to see how confident, well-informed and empowered the pupils felt to speak out if they experience or witness hate again.
That's the whole point. To give people the tools to challenge it.
