FEARS OVER SINKHOLE

Liverpool Echo

|

February 11, 2026

RESIDENTS are becoming increasingly concerned after a sinkhole appeared in one part of Merseyside, prompting safety concerns.

The large hole first appeared in Wolfenden Avenue, Bootle, approximately 11 days ago and has become a source of much frustration and inconvenience.

One person from the community, who wished to remain anonymous, told the ECHO: "It looks very dangerous - if a car went over it, it would sink even further. They put small a plastic barrier around it which you can hardly see at night because there's no lights on it.
