Fears for safety of 83-year-old man

A body has been found during searches for the founder of a popular hotel after he fell from a boat on Loch Lomond.

Alan Colquhoun, 83, is believed to have been with members of his family when he fell overboard on Thursday afternoon.

Police and Coastguard had also been involved in the search for Mr Colquhoun, the dad-of-three who is the former owner of The Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel.

Officers have now confirmed that a body was recovered from the water of Loch Lomond, near Isle of Inchlonaig, at around 3.25pm on Sunday.

Formal identification has yet to take place, however Alan's family have been informed.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances relating to the death.
