World Cup back row star Ehrecke 'excited' to sign for Lightning

USA international and World Cup star Rachel Ehrecke, left, has joined Loughborough Lightning.

Ehrecke arrives off the back of her first Rugby World Cup, where she featured from the bench in the defeat to England and the draw with Australia.

The 23-times capped international back row joins from Denver Onyx following the inaugural season of Women's Elite Rugby in the USA.

Ehrecke will be linking up at Lightning with five of her fellow USA internationals - Alev Kelter, Kathryn Treder, Bulou Mataitoga, Tahlia Brody, and Keia Mae Sagapolu who will all be returning for the Premiership Women's Rugby season following the World Cup.

"I'm really excited to have signed with Loughborough Lightning for the upcoming season," Ehreke said.

"They're a very dynamic side and I love their style of play.
