Special trio heading for railway's winter gala

RAILWAY enthusiasts will have a chance to see a selection of historic locomotives steaming through the countryside next week.

The Great Central Railway i will be holding its annual Winter Steam Gala from Thursday until Sunday, with visitors are expected to be coming from all over the country.

The railway says it will be an "action-packed four-day event" with steam-hauled passenger and goods trains, the usual lineup from the GCR home fleet, and three visiting locomotives steaming through the Charnwood countryside.
