Protest at MP's office

WELFARE REFORMS AND GAZA HIGHLIGHTED

CAMPAIGNERS gathered outside the constituency office of MP Liz Kendall to protest about cuts to welfare and her stance on Gaza.

Organisers said the protest, by about 60 people, was called "in frustration that Leicester West MP Ms Kendall has refused to meet her constituents to discuss their concerns".

Organisations supporting the protest included Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Leicester Anti Cuts Alliance, Unite the Community and the Green Party.

Colleen Molloy, one of the protesters, said "The announcement to subsidise the arms industry by billions of pounds, while we suffer austerity and cuts to benefits for the most vulnerable in society is criminal."
