Pride bans all political parties over trans rights

ORGANISERS SAY TRANSGENDER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABANDONED

ORGANISERS of Leicester Pride have banned all political parties from this year’s event because of what it said was their “abandonment” of trans people.

The festival directors said: “Leicester Pride will join other UK Pride festivals in suspending all political party participation at our parade and festival.

“This is in direct response to the continued abandonment of our trans community by all political parties.”
