PLAN WOULD BRING OFFSHORE POWER INTO PEOPLE'S HOMES
PLANS to upgrade Leicestershire's electricity infrastructure in a bid to deliver more power to the county have been revealed.
A new substation and extra power lines are among the proposals as National Grid announced the work as part of its Great Grid Upgrade, described as "the biggest investment in the electricity network in Britain for a generation".
It is aiming to build a new substation near Melton, with extra power lines being installed and others being upgraded in parts of the county.
