Flats used for homeless

COUNCIL PLAN IN FOR FORMER STUDENT BLOCK

PLANS have been submitted for a seven-storey flats block to be turned into homeless accommodation.

Leicester City Council revealed its intention in March to buy the Yoho building, in York Street, to help ease Leicester's homeless crisis.

The council said the purchase would help it move people out of “unsuitable” B&B accommodation, while saving the authority money in the long run.
