4,500 speeding on road 'treated like a racetrack'

RESIDENTS living along one of the worst roads for speeding in Leicestershire claim motorists treat their road "like it's a racetrack".
-
More than 4,500 speeding notices were issued along Narborough Road, Leicester, in the 11 months to the end of November.
The most notices were issued on the A6 St Margarets Way/Ravensbridge Drive, with 9,149 drivers caught speeding on the road, near Abbey Park, in the city.
However, due to the lack of houses in the area, we visited the camera which recorded the second highest number of offenders.
That belonged to Narborough Road, where there is a camera close to the Fullhurst Avenue junction.
A total of 4,588 notices were issued, with the highest speed on the 30 to 40mph road recorded at 84mph.
Resident Saheed Bello said: "When people see this camera you would think they would slow down. I mean it's clearly visible."
"When I'm going to work or the shops and I'm on my way back, I always see this camera flashing.
"It is constantly working, which goes to show people keep speeding here."
