If Switzerland hosting Eurovision 2025 has put the country on your holiday radar, CAMILLA FOSTER reveals the best underrated places to visit

SWISS PLEASE

FAMED for its velvety chocolate, delicately nutty cheeses and breathtaking scenery, Switzerland took centre stage at the weekend as it hosted Eurovision 2025, which was won by Austria.

The lively cultural hotspot of Basel - a picturesque city along the Rhine River in northwestern Switzerland - welcomed contestants and fans from around the globe for the 69th edition of the iconic song contest.

We're turning our attention to the quieter corners of the country - those hidden gems that are just as stunning, yet blissfully off the beaten path.

Here are four of the most underrated destinations to explore in this beautiful Alpine nation...

JAUN, FRIBOURG

Nestled in the mountainous region of Fribourg is this idyllic municipality.

Charming houses that look like they have been plucked from the pages of a fairy tale surround a magnificent waterfall that draws all eyes to its commanding presence.

A honeypot for hikers and nature lovers, Jaun encompasses plenty of different walking routes which vary in difficulty and time.

The Gastlosen four-hour circular route in particular offers a magnificent view of the Bernese Alps, according to Switzerland Tourism.
