'Let this be the start of negotiations, not the end'

BOSSES at JCB have welcomed trade deals signed by the Government with the US and India.
-
The two announcements came within days of each other and have been praised by JCB which is the world’s third largest manufacturer of construction equipment.
But bosses at the Rocester digger giant have called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to ensure ‘this is the start and not the end of the negotiations’.
‘The Government was urged to move quickly to the next stage of lowering reciprocal tariffs on all traded goods to zero per cent.
In announcing the trans-Atlantic deal with US President Donald Trump recently, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said that thousands of jobs have been saved thanks to the “first-of-a-kind’ trade agreement with the US.
US tariffs on automotives were ‘immediately slashed’ from 27.5% to 10%, with steel and aluminium reduced to zero
The PM said the deal would give ‘unprecedented’ market access for British farmers with protections on food standards maintained.
