Members of gang people smuggling into UK jailed

MEMBERS of a gang responsible for trafficking people using Surrey service stations have been sent to prison.

Sebastian Haj, 37, Nicolai Vitega, 54, and Florin Adrian Laurus, 32, smuggled people into the UK and forced them to live in squalid conditions.

Shortly before 7.45am on Wednesday, March 6 last year, police received a report of two lorries pulling into Cobham Services on the M25.

The informant claimed they had seen multiple people being taken from these lorries and placed into three white vans.

Officers hurried to the scene where one of the lorries was still parked up.

The curtains in the cab were drawn and the windows were covered in condensation, suggesting someone was inside, but when officers banged on the door no one came out.
