Keep costs realistic by following simple suggestions including buying supermarket own chocolate, getting guests to contribute dishes, making your own decorations and taking advantage of online vouchers

Easter used to be a relatively low-cost break.
There was fish for tea and shops were closed on Good Friday from noon. There was no sending of cards and presents consisted of chocolate eggs and, if you were lucky, a new outfit. Now Easter is a major holiday for many involving significant spending, with consumers in the UK expected to spend £147 per person this year.
The pressure to deliver themed outfits, home makeovers, and an abundance of chocolate - despite soaring prices - is placing a significant strain on household budgets.
Cost of Easter:
1 Egg costs: luxury eggs, like a Harrods pistachio egg, can reach £70; the average egg price is £5.72, with 80 to 90 million eggs sold annually in the UK.
2 Feast time: traditional UK Easter dinner is centred around roast lamb - symbolising spring and 'lamb of God'. Accompanied by roasted potatoes, seasonal greens, carrots, parsnips, gravy, and Yorkshire puddings.
