Rub-a-dub-dub not so many people enjoying the bath tub

When was the last time you had a bath? I'm not commenting on your personal hygiene, it's just an observation that people tend to prefer showers these days.

When I say "observation", I've not been peering through frosted glass windows it's more the case that you rarely hear people saying they have had a bath. A bath these days tends to be more medicinal rather than for cleansing purposes, and usually comes accompanied by several scoops of "salts".

When I was a kid it was rare to find a house with a proper shower in it. If you did have a separate shower you'd be con-sidered posh. The nearest you got was a hose attached to the taps and hung over the edge of the bath. The tap connec-tors were two rubber caps not dissimilar to those used for milking cows. One fixed to the hot tap and one attached to the "udder" tap! (Sorry, couldn't resist that pun).
