North End lead tributes to stalwart of the football club

Preston North End has announced the death of a key member of staff, saying everyone at the club is 'distraught'.

Lilywhite officials announced the club's ground safety officer Mark Farnworth died aged 62 on Monday.

Mark, who had been at Deepdale for almost 13 years, was initially taken ill while he was on holiday last July.

A club tribute said: "Every member of the PNE staff was distraught when they were informed yesterday afternoon of Mark’s passing.
