Injuries hampered Hoppers in defeat by buoyant Tigers side

A disappointing Preston Grasshoppers performance led to a 36-12 defeat in difficult conditions in South Yorkshire against Sheffield Tigers, writes LOUIS JEFFERSON.
Hoppers were looking to bounce back after a home defeat to Otley last time out whilst Tigers were looking to build on their narrow victory against Hull Ionians.
The hosts took the early lead, but Hoppers opened their account just minutes later with a good use of a line-out, ending in Hugo Castle going over to restore parity at 7-7 following Sam Freeman's conversion.
That was all the travelling Hoppers had to celebrate for the remainder of the half with everything seemingly going against them.
