Initiative to invite residents for lung cancer screening test

An NHS initiative is to invite people in the Preston area for a lung cancer screening session.
-
Introduced for people aged 55 to 74, the screening is to check and monitor those who have ever smoked or are registered with a participating GP practice.
Since the programme launch four years ago in Lancashire and Cumbria, 106,000 people have been invited for screening with around 240 of those discovered to have an early stage of lung cancer.
