Historic pub faces demolition work due to collapse concern
Lancashire Evening Post
|May 14, 2025
Part of a Grade-II listed pub in the heart of Preston is to be demolished.
The Old Dog Inn, in Church Street, will see Preston City Council demolish its rear wall after declaring it unsafe.
In February this year the city council served notice on the owner to order the rear wall to be taken down and rebuilt.
But no progress has been made and fencing has gone up around the pub - which has been closed since 2018 - after council officers inspected the building and 'identified further movement in the rear wall'.
