Dog abandoned on fell gives birth to seven puppies

A heavily pregnant dog who was abandoned on Longridge Fell has been given a new start after an incredible rescue effort.
Elsa, an Alsation cross, evaded several attempts to catch her but, thanks to the dedication, hard work and determination of a small band of kindhearted animal lovers, she eventually got the help she needed.
Elsa and her seven pups are being looked after and the search is on for new homes for them all.
The week-long drama back in June began with Ribble Valley Council's dog warden Jonathan Higham receiving a report of a stray dog on Longridge Fell.
