Cameras catch serial thief taking from pensioners

A family watched in horror as a serial burglar targeted their elderly parents in their own homes.

Lee Muir let himself into the Fulwood home of John and Marlene Thompson before searching the property while being asked to leave and then stealing cash on his way out.

Muir was on bail in connection with two other thefts when he targeted the vulnerable couple in February of this year. He has now been sentenced for five years for all three offences.

In September last year, Muir stole a £450 set of ladders from outside a home, which he placed on the roof his car and drove of, despite being disqualified.
