Youth Drowns in River Jhelum At Batwara

Tragedy struck Srinagar’s Batwara area on Friday afternoon as a young boy lost his life after drowning in the Jhelum river while bathing.
According to local sources, the boy, identified as Adil Ahmad Shaikh, a resident of Batwara, had gone for a swim near the Shivpora stretch of the river, opposite the Government School, accompanied by two of his friends. While bathing near the riverbank, he reportedly slipped and was swept away by the current.
