Untreated Industrial Waste Flowing Into Srinagar Flood Channel: Govt Admits

The Jammu and Kashmir government has admitted that untreated industrial waste from the Industrial Estate Rangreth, as well as from the Army Establishment (JAKLI), is being discharged directly into the flood channel that passes through Rawalpora to Peerbagh near Hill View Colony in Srinagar.
Responding to a question by MLA Mushtaq Guroo in the Legislative Assembly, the Industries and Commerce Department said that steps have been initiated to ensure proper treatment of industrial waste before disposal.
