No End to Air India Woes, More Flights Grounded

Air India is once again facing turbulence as a series of last-minute flight cancellations, including international routes, have left passengers fuming and raised questions about the airline’s assurances on fleet safety.

On Monday, the Tata Group-owned carrier cancelled its Zurich—Delhi flight (Al152) scheduled for August 17, citing “technical reasons” and subsequent night curfew restrictions at Zurich airport. This came just days after the airline claimed to have conducted a detailed inspection of its Boeing 787-8/9 aircraft fleet, with “no issues” detected.

‘A passenger on board, however, disputed the explanation, stating on social media that the aircraft aborted takeoff at the last minute due to an engine problem. “Air India flight from Zurich to Delhi is cancelled: aborted moments before takeoff, technical issue in engine cited,” the passenger posted on X.
