Kashmiri Mother’s Viral Story Of Lost Child Prompts Hospital Probe SKIMS Responds: Infant Death Inquiry Began Before Online Uproar

Ahmed, her infant son, had a fever over 101 degrees, persistent vomiting, and flu-like symptoms.

“He couldn't settle all night. I kept worrying he was getting worse with every hour,” Sumaira recalls in a post that has gone viral, nearly a month after her child's death.

By morning, Sumaira began calling local paediatricians, only to find that most would not be available until late afternoon.

One doctor, Tanveer Bashir at Noora Hospital, said he would see patients from 11 am. to 4 p.m. Assured by the hospital staff, the mother left home with Ahmed, hoping for care.
