RAMSGATE'S only dedicated youth centre, Pie Factory Music, has been rescued from imminent sale after securing a £535,000 capital grant from the government's Pride in Place Programme (PiPP).
The funding, awarded last Friday (December 12) by the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board, is intended to secure the freehold ownership of the Ramsgate Youth Centre, safeguarding the vital facility for young people in perpetuity.
The decision follows urgent negotiations to prevent Kent County Council from selling the site at auction, a move that posed a significant threat to youth services in the district.
