A TERROR suspect linked to the fugitive White Widow has had his release from prison blocked.

Jermaine Grant is accused of being an associate of Samantha Lewthwaite the wife of one of the 7/7 suicide bombers and a terror suspect herself.

He was said to have shared a flat with Lewthwaite in Mombasa, Kenya, where police found chemicals, switches and a bomb-making manual.

Muslim convert Grant, from Newham, East London, spent 13 years in a Kenyan jail for terror offences.

After serving his sentence, he was deported to the UK in August.

On arrival at Heathrow, he was arrested on suspicion of being a member of the proscribed Islamist militant group al-Shabaab, for which he remains under investigation.
