Yellow warnings for wind & rain

Flooding risk as 11 counties to be hit by more foul weather

THE island of Ireland is bracing for more adverse winter weather this weekend, with forecasters warning of heavy winds and rain until tomorrow in parts.

Weather agencies on both sides of the border have issued a series of warnings, with the first coming into effect for the entirety of Northern Ireland from 9pm last night.

The advisory, issued by the UK Met Office, is a yellow warning for rain until 9pm today - with meteorologists advising that downpours could lead to some flooding in places.
