Footie match disorder 'pre-arranged'

POLICE believe disorder in Derry was “prearranged” by rival football supporters.

The PSNI are investigating unrest in the Lecky Road and Lone Moor Road areas on Friday. Shortly after 7pm, two groups of Derry City and Bohemians fans attacked each other with “sticks, bats, and iron bars”.

Damage was also caused to buildings and parked cars in the area.

A flare was thrown into the Ryan McBride Brandywell stadium from outside, which caused the game to be paused.
